As the driving force behind Ebony Greens TM, LLC, Shawn has established himself as a visionary entrepreneur who seeks to empower African Americans to embrace golf as a recreational and professional pursuit. His athleisure golf apparel not only promotes style, comfort and versatility but also represents a powerful symbol of inclusion and diversity in the sport.
Shawn’s journey began in Chicago, Illinois, where he was raised in a single-parent household. His dedication to building wholesome communities was cultivated from a young age and transformed as Shawn matured, resulting in Shawn engaging even more in various community-building initiatives, including organizing council meetings, and advocating for neighborhood development.
Having earned a B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Shawn’s career soared as he assumed leadership roles, notably as a Building and System Engineer at UPS. Throughout his illustrious corporate journey, Shawn gained valuable insights into environmental compliance, underscoring his commitment to sustainability and community impact. A visionary corporate professional with over 30 years of expertise in Building and Systems Engineering, Shawn is not just a business leader; he is also a servant leader.
As an Ameri-corp Vista, Shawn serves as a capacity builder and corporate liaison for the Louisville Central Community Centers, channeling public and private investments to uplift underserved districts. His commitment to community upliftment extends to his role as a committee member of the Louisville Tourism Black Tourist Advisory Council, where he advocates for diverse cultural experiences within the Louisville tourism industry. Shawn’s commitment to community upliftment and leadership in this capacity helped secure Louisville as the host site for the 2023 African American Golf Expo and Forum in August with Shawn as lead facilitator, for which he was honored as the volunteer of the year.
Outside of his professional and community engagements, Shawn nurtures a healthy lifestyle through Iron Body Fitness training.
