Leading Orthopedic Surgeons Available to Comment

tiger-woods.jpgTiger Woods’ withdrew from The  Players Championship due to his injured left knee. The well-known golfer has had numerous knee injuries over the years which has limited his play in tournament golf. The issue now being debated is whether or not these injuries will prevent Woods from breaking Jack Nicklaus’ major golf tournament record. OrthopedicSurgeons, Dr. Ronald Grelsamer and Dr. Alexis Colvin, from the Department of Orthopaedics at Mount Sinai are available to speak on the complications of the injury.

“There is no minor injury in a 35 year old person who has already had 4 operations. A highly trained and toned athlete doesn’t suffer a debilitating medial collateral ligament (MCL) strain and an Achilles strain playing golf. No other golfer in memory has suffered so many lower extremity injuries while golfing,” Dr. Grelsamer stated today. “Unfortunately, this is probably more than an MCL strain. There are other structural problems going on. His knee could be his kryptonite – though you can never count Tiger Woods out.”

Both Dr. Greslamer and Dr. Colvin have appeared on national and local TV and radio, as well as in many print outlets as a resource on orthopaedic care and injuries specifically related to sports including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, as well as NFL.com.

Dr. Grelsamer and Dr. Colvin are available for interviews through Sara Davis at The TASC Group, 646-723-4344.
