Tiger Struggles at the Hero World Challenge

His golf struggled a little but his travel and living arrangements are never shy of first class.

It was a year ago when the golf world and Tiger himself had no idea of the state of his game as it relates to professional PGA standards. The year of 2018 witnessed one of the greatest sports come back in history with a historic win at the year ending Tour Championship in Atlanta. The Tour Championship win marked Tiger’s 80th PGA Tour victory putting him even closer to Sam Snead’s record of 82 professional PGA Tour victories.

Given Tiger’s ability to regain his form, I’m sure his opening round of 73 will be followed by much lower scores in round two, three and four.

When Tiger Woods travels, he does it in style. Inland by his private G6 Grumman executive jet or by sea in his private yacht Privacy.

Woods’s $20 million yacht, appropriately called “Privacy,” was the mode of transportation at this year’s U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. Gurney’s Montauk Yacht Club, where the triple-decker boat was reportedly seen, is about 30 miles from Shinnecock Hills, near the eastern point of Long Island.

At this week’s Hero Challenge in Albany, we see Privacy docked in her rightful place alongside a gathering of other yachts owned by …well, you know. The Albany marina is owned by Joe Lewis, a private investment organization: Tavistock Group, which includes Tiger Woods and Ernie Els and actor and musician Justin Timberlake.

Tiger’s golf game may have struggled on the first day of the Hero World Challenge. However, I can imagine his accommodations will play a significant role in easing a not so good day on the links.
