Nomination and eventual induction into the hall of fame in any endeavor of life represents the total body of one’s life work, and that work being recognized as worthy of the highest life award. Each of this year’s inductees have been examined, vetted, and determined by a committee of their peers, and deemed worthy of the honor. So as humbling as being selected is, it demands that one examine his or her chosen life work and somehow feel a sense of belonging and that, in some small way, their efforts in life to achieve a benefit for others to follow simply adds to the pride of being selected for this once in a lifetime honor.
The press release found on the web site (www.africanamericangolfershalloffame) outlines this year’s celebration and lists the honorees, but that only represents a fraction of the story being written by the whole work of Malachi Knowles and his beautiful wife Essie, founders and directors of Inner City Youth Golfers, Inc. and the AAGHOF & AAC&YGHOF. (African American Golf Hall Of Fame and African American Collegiate & Youth Golfers Hall Of Fame).
