THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (Dec. 21) – Vijay Singh birdied the last hole Sunday to edge Steve Stricker by one shot and win the $5.75 million Chevron World Challenge Presented by Bank of America at Sherwood Country Club. Singh closed with his second consecutive round of 67 to claim the $1.35 million winner’s check and the tournament trophy given to him by host Tiger Woods.  Singh, 45, also won the PGA TOUR’s Fed Ex Cup and ended the year on a high note. “I don’t want the year to end, I can tell you that,” Singh said.

The 2007 winner, Stephan Ames looks to make it a repeat like a few great SKINS GAMES champions before him. Notably Fred Couples who some would think he has a special ownership of the SKINS GAME trophy.

MARANA, Ariz. (AP) — Tiger Woods still rules the world of golf, perhaps now more than ever. With a record-breaking victory in the Accenture Match Play Championship, Woods won his fifth straight tournament and captured his 15th World Golf Championship, holding all three world titles for the first time. Golf is not a fair fight at the moment. Stewart Cink found that out at Dove Mountain, where Woods overwhelmed him with 14 birdies in 29 holes for an 8-and-7 victory, the largest margin in the 10-year history of this tournament.
