In the dozen years since Tiger Woods joined the PGA Tour, the number of players with African-American heritage at PGA events have been few. Kevin Hall, who is black and deaf, has received sponsor exemptions in New Orleans and Pebble Beach. Tim O’Neal has made it as far as the final stage of Q-school. Tony Smith qualified for the Buick Invitational in February of this year. Read more
Barbara Douglas Appointed Chairman of USGA Women’s Committee

Barbara Douglas of Scottsdale, Ariz., has been appointed to serve a one-year term in 2009 as chairman of the United States Golf Association Women Committee. Douglas takes over as chairman after serving as vice-chairman of the committee for the past two years, as she succeeds Roberta Bolduc of Longmeadow, Mass., who served two consecutive one-year terms. Martha Lang of Birmingham, Ala., has been appointed to a one-year term as vice-chairman. Read more

SANTA ANA, CA – January 26, 2009 – Hard work and dedication paid off for Pat Perez as he earned his first PGA TOUR victory at the 50th Bob Hope Classic.
Perez has been working with Coach Joey D, one of the elite biomechanics, strength and conditioning coaches on the PGA Tour and using GolfGym training products for the past year as part of his golf fitness program. Read more
